Associate Director, QuantSci Technical Solutions

Overview

The Associate Director, QuantSci Technical Solutions is responsible for leading and implementing the Quantitative Sciences vision for data and analysis infrastructure platforms and other technical solutions to support the data flow from data collection to data submission across Alnylam's portfolio. He/she coordinates gathering and prioritizing requirements, design and delivery of fit-for-purpose data and analysis technical solutions in partnership with IT, QuantSci, Clinical Operations and other stakeholders. He/she ensures the development, maintenance, validation, training and technical lifecycle management of innovative QuantSci platforms, macros and and utilities to efficiently address business needs and/or advance data review/analysis initiatives and processes.

This position is open to remote working.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promotes technical innovation to drive the development of data, analysis and visualization solutions within a clinical data environment
  • Participates on QuantSci data and analytics systems strategy and/or technical development initiatives including systems and technology integration, data sharing, analysis, transfer/access and storage platforms or utilities
  • Participates in clinical data technology-based initiatives including but not limited to the statistical computing environment, data visualization, Posit and SAS
  • Provides first line administrative and technical support for QuantSci systems; communicates with internal and vendor technical teams to support QuantSci users
  • Collaborates with IT, Clinical Operations, and other functional team leaders to ensure organizational effectiveness / efficiencies from systems and technology platforms
  • Participates in technical assessments of vendor products or new technologies; establishes relationships with internal and vendor technical teams to support business needs
  • Ensures compliance of clinical data systems and processes to regulatory requirements
  • Collaborates with QuantSci teams to understand requirements and develop processes, tools and utilities to improve quality and efficiency
  • Develops reusable and robust macros and/or utilities, along with detailed training/documentation, and partners with study teams in use and further improvement of processes and tools
  • QuantSci technical direction, and governance policies for analytical solutions and platforms, as well as best practices for efficient and inspection-ready delivery across the data flow.
  • Facilitates change management activities and training for QuantSci systems and processes
  • Leverage a strong background in process excellence to identify inefficiencies, redesign workflows, and implement AI-driven solutions to optimize Quantitative Sciences processes.
  • Understanding of working in AWS cloud environment, including services such as SageMaker, EC2, and S3 for scalable machine learning workflows.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in Pharma/Biotech or related industry experience providing development, implementation and technical support for Biotech or Pharma systems; familiarity with clinical data preferred
  • Experience working on data solutions projects or system implementations (i.e., data dashboards, SAS/data analytics infrastructure, data warehousing, data visualization and/or risk-based data review tools/systems) with clinical team members
  • Experience with 21 CRF Part 11 and computer system SDLC
  • Experience developing SOPs or Work Practices, Training materials, Standards or implementing technical best practices
  • Excellent written and oral presentation and interpersonal, organizational, analytical, project management and multi-tasking skills
  • Bachelor's Degree required in areas of computer science, statistics, mathematics or information sciences, MBA, advanced degree and / or Project Management certification preferred

U.S. Pay Range

$181,100.00 - $244,900.00

The pay range reflects the full-time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education. This role is eligible for an annual short-term incentive award (e.g., bonus or sales incentive) and an annual long-term incentive award (e.g., equity).
