Overview

The ArcGIS Notebooks team leverages Python-based libraries for spatial data science. ArcGIS Notebooks is a Jupyter notebook experience integrated into ArcGIS, and an ecosystem for Spatial Analysis and Data Science with industry-leading Esri and open-source Python libraries. ArcGIS Notebooks is built for on-premises and the cloud to make maps, geographic information, and analyses available anywhere, at any time. With powerful automation features, you can publish notebooks as web tools, schedule tasks, and trigger notebooks through webhooks.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who is dedicated to applying geoprocessing workflows using Python and is eager to contribute to a notebook product tailored for the GIS and Data Science community. Our team members cultivate a deep understanding of the product and customer needs, demonstrating a commitment to building high-quality software. As a Product Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the product development process, providing a strong technical perspective and utilizing the best tools available to create highly reliable, sustainable, and innovative software solutions.

Responsibilities



  • Apply the notebooks product towards spatial analysis and data science problems
  • Maintain, design, and write test cases for Python-based libraries used in spatial data science and related functionality, and perform quality assurance for notebook server
  • Collaborate with cross-product teams, developers and fellow product engineers to design, build and deliver new notebook server components
  • Share notebook workflows via help topics, blog posts, conference presentations, tutorials, and samples
  • Plan and execute software releases
  • Troubleshoot and triage customer issues


Requirements



  • 2+ year experience with writing Python code and/or analytics using Python notebooks
  • Intermediate experience in software testing or software development
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, or other spatial technology
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Organized, effective time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Bachelor's in GIS geography, engineering, computer science, math, or related field


Recommended Qualifications



  • Master's in GIS, geography, engineering, computer science, math, or related field
  • Experience developing and implementing test plans and test automation using Python or other scripting languages
  • Knowledge of container and orchestration technology such as Docker and Kubernetes

$74,984 $128,544 USD
