We have an outstanding opportunity for you to join our Employee Relations team, which provides comprehensive legal and strategic employment law advice and support to a workforce of approximately 3,100 employees across Macquarie's businesses in the Americas (U.S., Canada, Brazil, Mexico and Chile).

What role will you play?

You will provide counseling on a wide range of employment-related matters, including recruitment and hiring, discrimination / harassment / retaliation, leaves of absence, reasonable accommodations, wage / hour, executive compensation, investigations, discipline, terminations, reductions-in-force, and business restructures while partnering with various People & Culture Centers of Excellence. You will oversee employment-related litigation matters alongside external counsel. You will also support legal risk management in matters raising potential litigation concerns as well as assisting with compliance with applicable labor and employment laws in all Americas jurisdictions (including the U.S., Canada, Brazil, Mexico and Chile). You will draft, negotiate and enforce employment, separation, consultancy, and other employment-related agreements. You will collaborate with cross-functional business teams to identify, evaluate and resolve complex business issues and risks, and you will create and implement training and education on a variety of employment-related topics.
Salary range for this position: $185,000 - $220,000 / Year. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. You may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award.

What you offer

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) and 7+ years of employment law and counseling experience in all aspects of the employment relationship as well as litigation experience and practical knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws in the U.S.
  • Ability to quickly, effectively, and clearly provide strategic, business-focused advice and counsel in a fast-paced environment
  • Team-oriented individual with highly effective collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to think strategically and make recommendations for process improvement and drive matters to favorable outcomes
  • You possess material in-house employee relations or employment legal experience within financial services or other professional services companies
  • You have a mix of law firm and in-house experience
