| Primary Purpose of Position |
This position serves as an assistant in the Information Services Area of the Registrar's Office and is charged with assisting with all aspects of scheduling and registration related to the Fall, Spring and Summer schedule of classes for course offerings at the graduate and undergraduate level. This person also assists current and prospective students, alumni, parents, faculty and staff utilizing knowledge of university policies and procedures; processes registrations and resolves problems with student registrations; works with student records including grade changes, enrollment verifications, transcripts, Audit Forms, Pass/Fail forms, Deans Certifications, Late Adds and Drops, Retro-Active Adds and Drops, Special Course Forms, and Repeat Forms; processes name,
SSN and date of birth changes; interprets discrepancy reports and corrects errors; trains departmental staff as needed and conducts research at the request of the National Student Clearinghouse. This position assists in reviewing website content for needed updates as related to areas of responsibilities and ensures procedures within the Service Area are clearly documented and kept current. The position will also be supportive of exploring more efficient ways to perform tasks utilizing technology resources. May include other duties as assigned due to office needs or changes.

| Minimum Qualifications |
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

This position works within the Services Area of the Registrar's Office and is charged with: Answering questions from students, staff, faculty and parents utilizing knowledge of university policies and procedures; Compiling, preparing and maintaining academic course data to produce the schedule of classes; Reviewing and processing Course Term File changes for enrollment reporting; Managing activities related to the National Student Clearinghouse; Managing the distribution of student data; Creating, editing and updating Registrar web pages; Processing registrations; Receiving, distributing and/or processing grade changes, repeats, retroactive drop/adds, retroactive withdrawals, retroactive reinstatements, transcripts, and intent not to return forms; Resolving problems with student registrations, the university schedule of classes or deferment. |

This position requires a person with strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to coordinate work flow in such a way as to ensure the timely completion of multiple activities; ability to make decisions; knowledge of office practices, techniques and technology; ability to answer inquiries independently and coordinate a variety of resources; the ability to convey information to others in a manner that is clearly understood; and the ability to multi-task and the ability to work with frequent interruptions. |
| Preferred Qualifications |
Working knowledge of University policy and procedure as well demonstrated experience using Banner Student. Reporting experience and previous work experience in a high-traffic academic student service environment. Individual who is comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team. |

Information/Records Administration: Ability to access, review, compile and store multiple sources of data and information to generate appropriate criteria for reports. Ability to determine sources and gather information, via interviews, surveys and other methods, to complete work in assigned program area(s). Ability to research, compile, explain, and present data. Ability to clarify the rationale for the information/records management policy and practices. Ability to train clients in how to use software, databases and related forms and tools.
Knowledge/Program & Organization: Knowledge of policies, procedures and precedents affecting program area(s), affecting program area(s). Ability to analyze and explain how policies or procedures apply to programmatic and client needs. Operational knowledge of the purpose of the program's organization including its mission, services, clients and measures of business effectiveness. Ability to assess needs and assure assistance is appropriate to the situation. Ability to identify and understand non-specific issues and problems without standard resolutions and resolve them independently. Ability to modify processes using applicable technology, web-based data systems and programs.
Customer Service: Ability to develop and maintain productive and collaborative work relationships in order to facilitate effective service in assigned area and problem resolution with clients. Ability to explain the application of policies and procedures in terms of client needs and business results and goals. Ability to identify options and makes recommendations within established guidelines to meet competing needs.
