This post-doctoral position is funded through a project on document validation using artificial intelligence. The sponsor is Arizona State University's Department of Homeland Security Center of Excellence: Center for Accelerating Operational Efficiency ( CAOE).

The post-doctoral researcher will undertake research broadly in the area of human-centered data science. The candidate will create and validate new predictive models adopting responsible AI practices to support fact-checking and document validation. The candidate will design and implement human-facing systems and work with natural language processing systems, including large language models. The role also involves managing and coordinating data and communication among the research team, as well as collaborating with internal and external partners to advance the research objectives.

The candidate will work closely with Professors Vivek Singh (School of Communication and Information) and Fred Roberts (Command, Control and Interoperability Center for Advanced Data Analysis) to undertake this research.

This position provides salary, health benefits, and an allowance for travel. Reviews will be ongoing with a start date as soon as mutually feasible. The position is subject to availability of funding. The initial offer will be for one year with an opportunity to extend it based on mutual interest and availability of funding.

Minimum Education and Experience
The successful candidate must have a recent doctoral degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Computational Social Science, or a closely related field. Experience with human-centered data analytics is required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The candidate should possess strong skills in fact-checking and document validation, and proficiency in designing human-facing systems. Experience with natural language processing systems, including large language models, is highly desirable. Evidence of scholarly capacity via publications and/or research products are expected.
