Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Julius L. Chambers Biomedical/Biotechnology Research Institute ( BBRI) is a 40,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art research facility that is dedicated to expanding the University's research capacity, particularly in the biomedical and biotechnology areas. The BBRI is a broad based multi-disciplinary research and training institute. The mission of the BBRI is to conduct multidisciplinary and inter-institutional research focused on health issues that disproportionately affect minority and underserved groups while providing students with research experiences that will enhance their access to careers in the biomedical sciences.
Primary Purpose of Position
The Social/Clinical Research Specialist III organizes and oversees the daily activities and duties of a facility, communicating with staff, patients, and family; and ensuring that the facility offers the highest level of patient care.

The Social/Clinical Research Specialist III will provide "hands-on" guidance in multiple practice sites (primary care and specialty practices) affiliated with the Practice Based Equity Research Network. The CPC will develop trusting relationships with the providers and office staff to provide end-to-end project management support and technical assistance with the progression towards practice transformation and improved delivery of care and quality outcomes related to PBERN health equity projects.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The Clinical Coordinator organizes and oversees the daily activities and duties of the facility, managing staff; communicating with staff, patients and family; and ensuring that the facility offers the highest level of patient care. The CC will ensure quality patient care and improve medical practices. They ensure compliance with rules and regulations and assist with hiring and training new staff.

A modern Clinical Coordinator needs to know how to use technology to make clinical trials more efficient while protecting patients.
