Vantive: A New Company Built on Our Legacy Summary: As a leader in the Kidney Care R&D organization, the Technical Director for Materials and Container platforms is responsible for orchestrating the technical execution of global container (container closure systems) innovation, development, and lifecycle management initiatives in support of the business-aligned product and technology roadmaps. In close cooperation with cross-functional stakeholders (commercial, clinical, regulatory, and others), this R&D leader will drive the development of relevant technology roadmaps. As an individual contributor, the Technical Director will focus the global R&D organization's innovation initiatives in support of the technology roadmap goals and vision - these efforts may be related to materials, process, design or other novel considerations. Further, the Technical Director will oversee the entire portfolio of active and proposed global container development programs to ensure that opportunities for coordination across concurrent initiatives are maximized. The Technical Director will also establish and maintain a strong connection to external communities of experts in adjacent technical disciplines including technical groups and standards committees. This external focus will help guide our vision of state-of-the-art product/process design and compliance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develop global, business-strategy-aligned, materials and container technology roadmaps in support of the Kidney Care drug products portfolio Maintain understanding of relevant internal and external drivers of the future vision of our product portfolio. Considerations will include patient/therapy, business strategy, regulatory/compliance, global/regional competition, and more. Proactively engage in the scoping, ideation, concept selection, and other key development decisions for all drug product, materials, and containers related projects. Drive alignment to the defined product portfolio vision and technology roadmaps through your active engagement. Coach the organization on the technology roadmap and connect individual team members role to achieving our vision Establish and maintain internal and external networks of technical experts in relevant or adjacent competencies. Participate in relevant standards committees and influence guidelines in support of our patients. Propose exploratory and development programs in support of our defined technology roadmaps and product vision. Qualifications: Deep understanding of medical product lifecycle management (innovation, product/process development, on market product support); drug and consumable product development experience strongly preferred Significant direct experience in the evaluation and development of relevant polymer materials, polymer manufacturing processes, and container closure system designs Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical subjects to executive level audiences of varying technical backgrounds Ability to work with external partners and across a complex internal matrixed organization to achieve goals Ability to integrate complex and conflicting needs into a cohesive technical strategy Ability to drive cross functional and global strategic decision making. Education and/or Experience: MS in relevant engineering discipline, PhD preferred; 12+ years of relevant experience We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated base salary for this position is $184,000 - $253,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
