REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of applicable Surgical Education program REQUIRED*
  • *Student roles require current final year enrollment in an accredited Surgical Technologist program.

Job Summary

Implements plan of care for specific patient population. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to facilitate integrated and comprehensive care in the peri-operative environment.

May substitute training in operating room procedures from military or vocational training program.

Virginia Surgical Techs are required to be Licensed with the VBOM.

NBSTSA or NCCT certification accepted.

Licensed Surgical Technologist - State license - Other/National Required.

Licensed Surgical Technologist - State license - North Carolina Preferred.

Qualifications:

TS - Trade School Graduate: Surgical Technologist (Required) Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - Certifications - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), Tech in Surgery TS-C - Certification - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), Ventricular Assist Device Certification (VAD-C) - Certification - ICCAC Operating Room
