Position Description: |
The Department of Family Medicine at the University of Iowa, Carver College of Medicine is recruiting to fill an exciting and rewarding research position.
We welcome applicants for an open rank research, clinical, or tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor level, commensurate with the individual's previous experience. Applicants must have a PhD, MD,DO or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited college or university.
Applicants need to be able to articulate a research plan that fits in with Departmental research goals.
Additionally, applicants will be expected to write external grant proposals to secure funding to support their research program and that fits within the Departmental research mission.
Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.

Education Requirement: |
Applicants must have a PhD, MD, DO or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited college or university. |
Required Qualifications: |
As minimum qualifications for consideration, applicants must have at least three full years of research demonstrated productivity, experience and/or training beyond their terminal degree. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in research; demonstrated potential or ability to obtain an extramurally-funded research program; have strong analytic and writing skills; and evidence of peer-reviewed publications and research productivity commensurate with years of professional experience. PhD applicants should have an interest in primary care research and have a PhD in Epidemiology, Health Policy, Health Services, Community or Behavioral Medicine, Preventive Medicine, Medical Anthropology, Biostatistics, or related field.
MD/DO applicants must be board-certified in Family Medicine and will be expected to practice some clinical medicine.
In addition, for consideration at the tenure track associate and full professor level, applicants must also have a commensurate record of teaching experience, peer reviewed publications, and extramurally funded research. |
Desirable Qualifications: |
Desirable qualifications include the ability to engage in multi-disciplinary collaboration between departments across the university and related organizations.
Experience promoting an inclusive academic environment is also desired. |
