Hourly Pay Range:

$26.61 - $39.92 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Certified Cancer Registry Abstractor // Cancer Registrar II
  • Location: Elmhurst Cancer Center - Elmhurst, IL.
  • Full Time | 40 hours/week
  • Hours: Monday-Friday flexible day time hours

What you will do:

  • Under minimal supervision, accumulates and extracts clinical cancer related information according to reporting guidelines and enters data into cancer registry computer software for all patients with malignant cancer and benign brain tumors.
  • In doing so, ensures work is accurate and completed in accordance with established American College of Surgeons standards and requirements of the Illinois State Cancer Registry.
  • Maintains logs and records of tumor registry information and report requests and provides information per request.
  • Delivers and ensures customer service in all aspects of the job.

What you will need:

  • Education: High School Diploma, required. Associates/Bachelors in Healthcare related field, preferred.
  • Certification: Current Oncology Data Specialist, ODS-Certified, (previously known as Certified Tumor Registrar, CTR) or eligible to take and successfully pass the ODS examination within one year of start date, required. Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification, preferred.
  • Experience:Minimum of six months previous experience as a tumor registrar, preferred.
