MedStar Health is looking fora Speech Language Pathologist tojoinour team!We can support Clinical Fellowships in this role and offer Relocation Assistance on a case-by-case basis.

The Speech-Language Pathologist provides speech-language pathology services, with services to include but not limited to screening and evaluation, treatment planning, treatment implementation, treatment re-assessment and revision, patient/clientreevaluation, discharge planning, and documentation in a variety of settings. The Speech-Language Pathologistparticipatesas requested in program planning and protocol development andassiststhe team in meeting established goals.

Primary Duties:

  • Provides evaluation services including review of pertinenthistoricalinformation, performance of specific assessments, and determination of recommendations and documentation of results. Explains evaluation findings and treatment plan to patient and family and incorporates patient and family in the goals setting.

  • Demonstratesproficiencyin implementation of treatment protocols based upon evaluation findings, the patient's presentation, and the evolving health care environment. Consults with other healthcare professionals asindicated. Recognizes and documents changes in patient's condition requiring modification of the plan of care and/or the need for medical/rehabilitation consultation.

  • Completesappropriate dischargeplanning and follow-up care. Accurately andtimelydocuments and charges for patient care activities considering our evolving health care environment, painting a clear picture of the patient's course of care including focusedinitialevaluation/plan of care thatestablishesbaseline and goals, daily encounter notes, interim progress summaries, and discharge evaluation.

  • Demonstrates effective time management and meets productivity expectations. Managesan accurateschedule. Demonstrates a professional commitment to provide frictionless patient access to care through flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and actions/behaviors that display empathy in our patient consumer driven environment.

  • Takes initiative in pursuing and directing continuing education for professional growth and competency for self and organization. Serves as a clinical instructor to assign students.Assistswith orientation and mentoring ofnew staff, students, and volunteers.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology of an accredited school ofSpeech LanguagePathology.

  • Completion of clinical fellowship year (CFY).

  • Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia licensure asdeemednecessary for your specific location(s).

  • American Speech Language Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence.

This position has a hiring range of
$72,758.40 - $123,260.80
