Position Type:Full-Time Staff, Exempt Position Summary The Budget Analyst position is responsible for budgetary oversight of the Capital and Student Association budgets, general ledger account set up, maintenance, and budgetary reporting and analysis, to include report and dashboard creation. This position is also responsible for providing assistance to the Budget and Resource Planning Director on institutional budget management, ad hoc projects and other special analysis. This position supports the college mission by maintaining the general ledger accounts, creating and providing reports to the college community, recommending improved practices and procedures for efficient and effective allocation of resources to achieve initiative outcomes and providing financial analyses to support decision making.

* General ledger module leader responsibilities to include, but not limited to, assigning users general ledger budgetary access, creation and maintenance of general ledger accounts and general ledger account queries.

* Provide budgetary support to deans and department heads. Identify solutions for operational and funding challenges.

This position is responsible for interacting with all levels of leadership within the college. Requests for information/reporting can come from many different individuals which are time sensitive.
Preparation of financial projections requires development of sound assumptions and analysis of the reasonableness of those assumptions.
The college budget FY2026 budget all funds $223 million Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting or business
Minimum of five years of general accounting/budget experience required
Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and practical knowledge of financial systems and internal financial controls and procedures required.
Ability to work accurately with large financial data sources. Strong analytical skills and ability to handle sensitive information with complete confidentiality.
Strong technical knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite software, including experience with developing reports and dashboards.
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication and customer service skills required. Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with various constituents, including all levels of management, faculty, and the general public.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and deadlines Preferred Qualifications: CPA or other relevant professional certification
Experience with reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Informer), integrated database systems, query writing.
Knowledge of governmental and not-for-profit accounting
Two of the five years of experience in a position at or relevant to an environment of higher education
