Director, Business Development - Industrial Sector

Summary:
The Director, Business Development will be responsible for the definition, planning, and implementation of business development strategies and activities, including new customer relationship development. The Senior Director will provide leadership and guidance to business unit/design teams throughout the Company, to achieve maximum sales growth and profitability. Will establish plans and strategies for expanding the customer base in each of the Company's markets, and contribute to the development of training and sales collateral for the business unit/design teams and sales force. This role requires a recent and prior background within an Electronic Manufacturing Service, Contract Manufacturer, or electronics OEM. The focus of this role is in our Industrials Sector.

Responsibilities:
*Develop business plans and sales strategies for each market segment that ensures attainment of Company goals for growth and profitability.
*Responsible for new customer business development within defined markets and market segments.
*Participates and supports M&A activity aligned with corporate strategy.
*Develops and implements marketing plans as needed.
*Works with and assists the sales team by defining appropriate systems for identifying and qualifying marketing leads, and for managing an effective hand-off of qualified leads from strategic business development to sales and business unit teams.
*Assists the business unit/design teams by producing document templates for quotes and proposals, and providing training to the teams on how to use them.
*Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of sales methods, costs, and results.
*Directly manages and or coordinates activities related to critically developing strategic customer accounts.
*Assists business unit/design teams to provide timely, accurate and competitive pricing on all completed quotes and proposals, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.
*Creates and delivers proposal presentations and RFP responses as required.
*Directly leads critical portions of business development proposals and presentations, and assists business unit/design teams in preparation of proposals and presentations as needed.
*Insures that business unit/design teams and or sales associates meet or exceed all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and quotes.
*Delegates' authority and responsibility with accountability and follow-up.
*Maintains contact with all new customers within each market segment to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
*Regularly establishes marketing and business development strategies and successful execution of those strategies.

*8+ years program management experience.
*5+ years in a leadership role.
*Effectively mentors employees at all levels including business unit teams.
*Understands and uses continuous improvement tools.
*Drives solutions to complex planning issues with limited supervision.
*Effective analytical, strategic planning and organizational skills.
*Proven negotiation and problem solving skills.
*Demonstrates teamwork and the ability to motivate diverse project teams with minimal direction within tight timeframes during multi-project initiatives.
*Solid financial understanding, risk analysis ability, relationship-building, and project management.
*Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
*Excellent communication skills (writing, speaking, listening, presenting), as well as interpersonal skills.

Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
