Nurse Practitioner Primary Care Primary Care Services Full Time 79863BR Job Summary The Nurse Practitioner supports the vision of the Patient-Centered Medical Home model and supports the open access and same day response requests by patients. performs physical examinations and treats common episodic and chronic health care problems with an emphasis on health maintenance and disease prevention through education and counseling. The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for triage on behalf of the practice both in person and through telephone and electronic communication. This includes cross-coverage and management of clinical team messages, prescription refills, lab orders, and referral requests. They consistently project a professional and courteous demeanor. The Nurse Practitioner may also schedule same day acute patients as identified via the practice triage protocol. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $95.69 - $124.10 (Hourly Rate). As a primary care practice, we work as a team to promote healing and wellness through health counseling and patient education, screenings, and disease diagnosis and treatment. Required Qualifications Minimum of one (1) year recent related experience as Nurse Practitioner. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience with EMR/APeX. Previous experience in Primary Care/Family Medicine. License/Certification California Driver's license (CDL) if required for position. Must hold current national certification from an accepted certifying agency and provide by first day of work. Accepted Certifications for this position: FNP-BC, FNP-C https://ucsf.app.box.com/s/a2wll0d3oqe3j9shkb1nvewnqkbzjlun Must hold a current and active RN and NP and Furnishing license in California. Must have completed a BRN recognized graduate master's degree program as a nurse practitioner. Must obtain an active and/or transferable DEA license to California and provide evidence by 90th day of clinical practice. (It is the responsibility of the employee to transfer their DEA license to their new place of employment if from out of state, via online DEA portal and provide evidence of transfer). Must have submitted enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through credentialing by first clinical day. CCS enrollment as appropriate for pediatric environments. Must hold current AHA BLS as minimum requirement. State regulation requires that you have a supervising physician to practice. Incumbents with less than 6 months of NP experience will be hired as a Nurse Practitioner 1. UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
