- UH: Stem Cell Transplant - (Full-Time, Day Shift) - Our mission is to continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ. The Coordinator-Quality TCT Lab works under the supervision of the Supervisor-TCT/GMP Lab to design, develop, evaluate and implement quality control testing, assays and procedures for materials used for Transplant and Cellular Therapy. The Coordinator will adhere to established policies and procedures of the TCT/GMP Laboratory and with FACT, FDA and other regulatory agencies. This position will compile and analyze data to evaluate outcomes of laboratory processes for quality practices and develop corrective action plans to improve practices as needed. The Coordinator will interact with laboratory personnel, and multi-disciplinary teams (physicians, nurses, other hospital staff). Bachelor's degree in Biological Science or equivalent field required. Master's degree in life sciences or equivalent field of study preferred. Five years of experience as a Quality Control Specialist or Coordinator, within regulated clinical, blood or tissue banking or manufacturing environment preferred. California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License preferred.. Knowledge of biotechnology and cell therapy, standard operating procedures in a transplant cellular laboratory. Familiar with instruments used in cell and gene therapy such as cell counters, bioreactors, centrifuges, and biological safety cabinets. Knowledge of aseptic techniques. Able to: read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently with minimal supervision; perform basic math functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to distinguish colors and smells as necessary for patient care; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position; discern temperature variances through touch.
