VP of Commercial Credit

Think Bank is seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Commercial Credit to lead our Commercial Credit team and help shape the future of our commercial lending portfolio. This key leadership role oversees commercial underwriting, credit administration, and portfolio risk management while partnering closely with lending and senior leadership to influence credit strategy, support business growth, maintain portfolio quality, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

The ideal candidate brings deep commercial credit expertise, strong leadership skills, and a balanced approach to risk management and growth. You will play a critical role in shaping credit strategy, supporting complex lending relationships, enhancing underwriting standards, and fostering a strong credit culture throughout the organization.

Lead and Develop the Commercial Credit Team

• Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for the Commercial Credit team, including Credit Analysts and Commercial Credit Support Specialists.
• Foster employee development through training, mentoring, and individualized growth plans.
• Clearly communicate performance expectations to staff and hold them accountable to expectations.
• Ensure workloads are effectively managed and departmental objectives are met.

Provide Strategic Credit Leadership & Collaboration

• Serve as a key partner to leadership in advancing Think Bank's credit culture, portfolio management, and strategic growth initiatives.
• Collaborate with Commercial Banking leaders to deliver consistent, high-quality customer experience.
• Partner with organizational leaders to promote consistent customer experience and advance customer-focused outcomes.
• Serve as a trusted advisor on complex credit opportunities and lending relationships.

Drive Credit Quality and Risk Management

• Provide recommendations to strengthen commercial credit policies, underwriting standards, and risk management practices in support of Think Bank's growth and risk objectives.
• Monitor portfolio performance, asset quality, and emerging risks.
• Enhance credit policies, underwriting standards, and risk management practices.
• Manage watchlist credits, workout strategies, and regulatory compliance.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field
• Ten years of banking, commercial lending, credit administration, or related financial services experience
• Seven years of progressive commercial credit underwriting and portfolio management experience
• Five years of experience managing and developing teams
• Line experience as commercial lender preferred

Compensation: $206,500
