Department: Education & Social Policy
Salary/Grade: EXS/5

Target hiring range for this position will be between $60,000 -$68,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Job Summary:

The Marketing, Outreach and Events Coordinator manages SESP's social media presence, outreach initiatives, and program events to strengthen engagement among prospective students, current students, alumni, and broader community audiences. In coordination with the MarCom team, the coordinator develops and executes digital campaigns that amplify authentic voices, promote the school's academic programs, and support recruitment, branding, and advancement goals. The coordinator manages content creation, partners with students and campus stakeholders to elevate diverse perspectives and analyzes digital performance to continually refine strategy. Additionally, the role supports admissions and outreach automation, program events, and communications. The Coordinator may manage student workers and ensures cohesive messaging across all communications and marketing efforts.

Specific Responsibilities:

Social & Community Engagement

  • Manage and moderate SESP's social media presence (platforms, calendar, content flow).
  • Execute campaigns aligned with branding, recruitment, and community-building goals.
  • In coordination with the MarCom team, partner with alumni, students, and faculty to amplify authentic voices through storytelling (e.g., testimonials, features).
  • Analyze engagement and performance metrics; report insights and adjust tactics accordingly.
  • Collaborate with ARD to align campaign messaging with giving initiatives.
  • Develop and oversee student-focused content strategies to increase engagement among prospective and current students (e.g., student takeovers, day-in-the-life posts, peer-to-peer video content).
  • Recruit, train, and manage student content contributors; ensure consistent and brand-aligned output.
  • Monitor online conversations and student communities to identify emerging needs, interests, or opportunities for engagement.
  • Respond to student questions and inquiries received via social media or digital channels and connect them with appropriate resources.
  • Create and maintain a repository of student stories, spotlights, and user-generated content for ongoing campaigns.

Marketing & Events Coordination

  • Plan and execute admissions and outreach events (webinars, panels, info sessions, open houses, etc) and other SESP and MS program events.
  • Coordinate event logistics for SESP/MS program events: guest invitations, registration, Zoom or in-person setup, follow-up, and day of support.
  • Support activities targeting prospective students through digital outreach, email sequences, and interactive social content, including drafting content for automated emails, texts, and other outreach.
  • Create supporting promotional materials (emails, social posts, print collateral).
  • Assist in content creation, especially visuals and community campaigns.
  • Manages pool of student-staff to ensure coverage of all events.
  • Develop student-centered outreach initiatives
  • Gather and incorporate student feedback to inform event programming, marketing content, and recruitment strategies.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications, Skills)

  • Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education
  • 3 + years of marketing and/or communications experience including social media and digital communication design utilizing software such as Acrobat Professional, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, etc.; or other relevant experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with prospective students, faculty, staff, and campus partners.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks, timelines, and priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience working with CRM or student information systems (e.g., Salesforce), or the ability to learn such systems quickly.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records, ensure data quality, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Customer service orientation with a commitment to equity, inclusion, and high-quality student support.
  • Experience collaborating with marketing or communications teams on student-facing messaging.

Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications, Skills)

  • Outstanding interpersonal, writing, and editing skills, and experiences that demonstrate their expertise in marketing, communications, public relations and client management.
  • Experience with Salesforce (CRM) & Pardot
