The Moores Cancer Center (MCC) is one of just 58 NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the United States and the only one in San Diego County. The MCC Program Manager is a key member of the Chief Operating Officer's team providing complex analytical support and guidance for events, programs, and broad MCC initiatives. This position will oversee the day-to-day functioning of many of MCC's larger events and logistics like Research Program Leadership, Institutional Leadership Meetings, annual Legends of Science and Surfing, as well as coordination for many invited speakers and guests. MCC's operations include annual External Advisory Board meetings and broad partnering events like the Masterclass in Entrepreneurship.

• Nine years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus five years of related experience/training.

• Advanced knowledge of common organizational- or research-specific and other computer application programs.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and influence, both verbally and in writing.

• Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.

• Advanced project management skills.

• Thorough knowledge of organizational or initiative processes, protocols and procedures.

• Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.

• Advanced knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques.

• Advanced analytical / problem-solving skills.

• Seven or more years of relevant experience.

• Thorough knowledge of NCI Designated Cancer Center policies, procedures and standard operating procedures.

• Demonstrated ability to thrive in an executive office setting.
