The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level in the Section of Hematopathology in the Division of Clinical Pathology. The section is responsible for the performance of Hematopathology laboratory services at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, the school's 650-bed tertiary care core teaching hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. The laboratory also covers the activities of the recently opened Jack and Sheryl Morris Cancer Center and the Bristol-Meyers-Squibb Children's Hospital, both of which are connected to the main hospital. The successful candidate will be a member of the Hematopathology team, consulting with clinical staff, as well as an active participant in the educational programs of the Department, including teaching medical students and residents. They will also be encouraged and supported to engage in productive research activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide diagnostic clinical pathology and hematopathology services at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick.
- Collaborate with institutional leadership, physician partners, and nursing colleagues to ensure high-quality care for patients in all settings.
- Work collaboratively with clinical teams to provide timely, integrated diagnostic support for complex cases.
- Provide call coverage as needed by the Department of Pathology of Rutgers RWJMS at the discretion of the Chair of Pathology.
- Work collaboratively with the existing academic, administrative, and clinical staff within the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
- Document and bill for provider activities accurately, appropriately, and in a timely manner according to the employer's policies.
- Actively participate in the teaching programs and attend conferences and grand rounds, including supervision and mentorship of pathology residents and fellows.
- Promote the program throughout the region and at national conferences.
- Participate in process/quality improvement in care delivery of patients and participate in quality initiatives of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
- Comply with all employer and hospital medical staff bylaws.
- Understand and adhere to RBHS's compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct, and Conflict of Interest Policy.
- Keep abreast of all pertinent federal, state, and RBHS regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- An MD, DO, or MBBS degree is required.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in New Jersey.
- Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology OR Clinical Pathology.
- Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Pathology in Hematopathology.
