Position Summary

The Technical Leadprovides strategictechnicalleadership, direction, and deliveryoversight fortechnology solutions within a team or project. This rolecombineshands-onexpertise withleadershipaccountability for solution design, system implementation,enterprisealignment, scalability, and security.

Serving as a key partner between business stakeholders and technical teams, the Technical Lead translates business needs into practical, well-architected solutions and guides teams through successful execution. This role includes mentoring team members, promoting engineering quality, resolving complex technical challenges, and supporting the timely delivery of reliable, high-quality solutions.

The Technical Lead also partners across architecture, infrastructure, operations, and security teams to promote alignment with organizational priorities, technology strategy, enterprise governance, and leading practices.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and Oakland, CA once per week, or more, based on business needs or company requirements.

Compensation

PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be between the minimum and midpoint listed below. Thefinal decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above.This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Bay Area Min: $140,000.00

Bay Area Mid: $189,000.00

Bay Area Max: $238,000.00

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership forthe design, development, and implementation of complex systems.

  • Guide delivery teams in producing scalable, high-quality technical deliverables.

  • Promote and ensure adherence to enterprisestandards,best practices,architectureprinciples, andgovernanceexpectations.

  • Proactively identifyrisks, dependencies, and mitigation strategiesto support predictable delivery.

  • Champion the thoughtfuladoption of modern technologies, tools, and frameworks.

  • Translate business requirements intocleartechnical solutions,architecture diagrams, and implementation guidance.

  • Assess and recommend technologies and platforms that align with business objectives and enterprise strategy.

  • Mentor, coach, and guide technical staff to strengthen capability and delivery effectiveness.

  • Facilitatetechnical training sessionsand knowledge-sharing forumsthat promote team learning and consistency.

  • Serveasa trustedescalation point forcomplextechnical challenges.

  • Partnerwith product owners, project managers, and stakeholdersto shapedelivery plansand technical execution paths.

  • Contribute leadership and technical perspectivein Agile/Scrum ceremonies, includingstand-ups, sprint planning,andretrospectives.

  • Lead troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and issue resolutionwith a focus on sustainable outcomes.

  • Support production deployments and release management processesthrough disciplined planning and coordination.

  • Communicate technical solutions, risks,and trade-offsclearlyto businessand technologystakeholders.

  • Build strongcross-functional partnershipswith infrastructure, security,operations, and related technologyteams.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degreein Computer Science, ajob-related discipline,or equivalent experience.

  • 5 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure, systems administration, cloud operations, or related Information Technology functions.

Desired:

  • 5years of experienceworkingas a Technical Leadin an Agile/Scrum environment.

  • AWSCertifiedCloudPractitioner,MicrosoftCertified:AzureFundamentals,or equivalentcloud platformcertification.

  • Strongoral and writtencommunication,collaboration, and stakeholder engagementskills.

  • Ability tofostercommunity, strengthen team engagement,andelevate team performance.

  • Strong executiondiscipline, ownershipmindset, andsound decision-making.

  • Advancedtechnical knowledge and expertise forsupportedproducts.

  • Provenability to translate user storiesandfeaturesintoactionabletechnical tasks.
