TITLE: Senior Manager, HR

LOCATION: Hybrid in Lombard, IL On average 3 days/week

COMP RANGE: $140,000 - $170,000/year plus bonus

Custom Culinary, a subsidiary of Griffith Foods, is hiring a Senior Manager, HR to support the Custom Culinary (CC) subsidiary, which has a total employee population of approximately 175, including two manufacturing sites - in Oswego, IL and Avon, OH - and corporate, sales, finance, culinary, and other professionals at our Lombard, IL office.

In this role, you will co-create and drive HR strategic initiatives and partner with business leaders to ensure leadership manages and develops its talent, understands collective bench strength, facilitates internal mobility, and coordinates succession planning at all levels with mindfulness to diversity and inclusion initiatives. At the same time, you will also be directing the execution of day-to-day HR activities across Custom Culinary, serving as a strong player-coach to the President and leadership team, while directing the execution of day-to-day HR activities via your 2 direct reports.

This is your opportunity to serve on the Custom Culinary Leadership Team and serve as a key advisor to the President of Custom Culinary by influencing workforce planning and talent strategy, leadership effectiveness and succession planning, organizational design and change management, as well as culture, engagement, and retention.

As a Senior Manager, HR, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing 2 HR direct reports at our two manufacturing facilities in Oswego, IL, and Avon, OH, and consults and advises them on routine employee relations and discipline matters, in collaboration with the in-house Legal Department.

  • Partnering closely with the President of CC and the CC Leadership Team to shape and lead the people strategy for the business.

  • Driving the talent agenda by managing the development and performance regarding standardization and execution of employee relations, talent management and development, succession planning, performance management, compensation, and recruiting activities at the manufacturing locations.

  • Collaborating with direct team, broader North America HR Team and other internal partners for execution of priorities, such as planning and executing integrated talent activities through talent and strategic workforce planning and developing and consulting on organizational design and change management needs.

  • Using financial, workforce, and talent analytics to diagnose organizational health, identify risk, and present clear, data driven recommendations to the CC Leadership Team.

  • Leading the CC talent strategy, including succession planning for senior leadership roles, assessment and selection of key talent, and development of diverse leadership pipelines.

  • Leading the CC engagement strategy, action planning, and recognition programs that drive connection and belonging, including providing counsel and development coaching to leaders and proposes strategies to address gaps and/or opportunities to strengthen leadership effectiveness.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Organization Development, I/O Psychology, or related field

  • At least 7 years' progressive experience in HR management within manufacturing, food/CPG, distribution, e-commerce, or related industry

  • At least 8 years' experience to performance management, strategic planning and execution, employee relations, compensation planning, benefits support, workers compensation, talent management, and development

  • At least 5 years' direct people management including demonstrated leadership, coaching and development

  • Willingness to be onsite 3 days a week in Lombard, Illinois, plus monthly rotational travel to Oswego and Avon facilities

  • Willingness and ability to travel within the US, especially to the Avon, OH facility, as needed for business purposes

  • Candidates must currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this role

What will set you apart:

  • Experience with Workday HCM system

  • Bilingual in Spanish

  • MBA or Master's degree in HR, Industrial Labor Relations, or a related field

  • SPHR certificate

This role is affiliated to the Lombard IL locations, and candidates for this role need to reside within a commutable distance of that location and will be required to come into that location approximately 3 days/week. You may be asked to travel to other locations periodically for meetings, including monthly rotational travel to Oswego, IL, and Avon, OH facilities. Please note that, during onboarding and or to lead performance management, additional onsite or travel days may be needed.
