POSITION OVERVIEW

Assists and supports legal team with all administrative matters related to litigation and related matters handled by the legal department.

  • Prepares, reviews, and manages legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and related materials under the direction of the CLO and VP Operations Legal Counsel.
  • Provides paralegal support for general liability, professional liability, employment, regulatory, and other legal matters, with a primary focus on litigation support.
  • Coordinates and oversees discovery processes, including document collection, production, tracking, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversees legal hold processes, including implementation, monitoring, and compliance.
  • Partners directly with campuses and employees on legal matters, including litigation support, information gathering, discovery management, and related guidance.
  • Maintains litigation databases, tracking systems, files, and records to ensure accurate and timely case management.
  • Generates, reviews, and analyzes loss runs and litigation-related reports; coordinates with insurance carriers and brokers to ensure accuracy.
  • Assists in preparing reports, presentations, and analytics for the Board of Directors and leadership teams, including litigation trends, risk metrics, and other legal matters.
  • Serves as a liaison with outside counsel, courts, governmental agencies, insurance carriers, brokers, campuses, employees, and other external parties.
  • Coordinates responses to subpoenas, regulatory inquiries, and other legal requests.
  • Oversees law firm onboarding, engagement letters, business associate agreements, and related documentation and databases.
  • Maintains litigation calendars and monitors deadlines, filings, hearings, service of process, and other key litigation activities.
  • Reviews, edits, proofreads, and redlines legal documents and correspondence.
  • Processes legal invoices, settlement payments, and other litigation-related expenses.
  • Organizes and maintains legal records, case files, and reference materials.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree
  • 5-8 years of experience

Travel: Yes: Minimally, as required (Typically less than 10%)
