Job Description

All about the role:

Provides human resources consultation and support to a designated client group. Uses knowledge of various human resources functions, including staffing, compensation, benefits, training and employee relations to provide strategic and tactical HR support to line managers. Consults with business unit management in the strategic planning process and development of human resources strategies that support the unit's business needs.

What you'll do:

  • Responsibilities include the development and administration of personnel rules and regulations, pay and job classification structures, and programs for employee training.
  • Understands key business issues, objectives and strategies and continuously ensures human resource and organizational structures are aligned with business needs.
  • Drive a culture of growth, meeting commitments, and positive employee relations
  • Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization, at all levels (e.g. evaluation of cost, clarifying roles and responsibilities, organization design, etc.).
  • Organizational and Analytical Skills:Manage multiple HR functions, analyze data, and make informed decisions
  • Implement consistent and meaningful leadership communication processes.
  • Conduct organization assessments and strengthen talent through strategic staffing and talent pipeline review development.
  • Lead the talent review/succession planning process and ensure linkage with broader functional and business reviews.
  • Increase employee engagement and commitment by resolving employee and organizational issues in a proactive and positive manner.
  • Interpret and implement HR policies, practices and procedures for managers, teams, and individual employees that furthers the business.
  • Provide HR leadership and coaching to employees and managers regarding employee relations issues.
  • Work with Human Resources staff in accomplishment of all HR activities

Minimum Qualification:

  • A bachelor's degree, preferably in Human Resources; related graduate degree
  • A minimum of 7 years HR experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Previous plant HR leadership experience required.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to make well thought-out decisions on complex issues. Can develop creative yet workable solutions to difficult problems
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
  • Experience in pursuing community resources and establishing relationships for future resources.
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment / labor laws and regulations
  • Structured interviewing experience and presentation skills
  • Experience in writing and evaluating programs associated with Affirmative Action and other compliance programs
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization collaboratively.
  • Service minded
  • Strong follow up skills and customer focus.
  • Must be able to penetrate detail and yet keep it in perspective with the bigger picture of the business.
  • Must have interpersonal skills that develop and maintain trust and respect of employees.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems, Workday, digital collaboration tools, and modern HR metrics
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and HR procedures.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • SHRM certification a plus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate computer keyboard and telephone. The employee frequently is required to walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
