Summary of Job Duties:The Arkansas Center for Women's and Infants Health (ACWIH) at UAMS is seeking a visionary leader to lead its statewide clinical education initiatives in obstetric emergency preparedness and provider readiness. This role involves directing a distributed team of regional nurse educators, simulation faculty, and education staff to deliver high-quality, consistent training across EDs, EMS agencies, outpatient clinics, and hospital partners throughout Arkansas. You'll also serve as the primary liaison among clinical faculty, regional implementation teams, and organizational leadership to advance maternal and infant health outcomes.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic and operationally focused leader with a proven track record in multi-site program management, simulation-based education, and workforce development. You'll excel at aligning curricula with national standards and regulatory requirements, and can translate ambitious goals into actionable plans. You bring strong people leadership, budget stewardship, and a results-driven mindset, with a passion for improving obstetric and neonatal outcomes across Arkansas.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Business, Health, or a scientific field
  • Six (6) years of project management experience within a research or community-based setting, including one (1) year of supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated experience supervising staff and managing geographically distributed teams
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Greater Little Rock, AR, or the Greater Northwest, AR, regions, as this position will be located at the UAMS Campus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Nursing, Public Health, Health Administration, or related field
  • Registered Nurse License
  • Seven (7) years of experience in maternal and infant health
  • Experience in simulation-based clinical training or obstetric/perinatal care education
  • Familiarity with continuing education accreditation processes (CME, CNE, EMS CE)
  • Experience working in rural health, emergency medicine, or multi-site healthcare settings
  • Knowledge of Arkansas's healthcare landscape and rural hospital infrastructure

Additional Information:

Key Responsibilities:

Program Leadership and Oversight

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of the Clinical Education team (regional nurse educators, simulation staff, education design personnel).
  • Oversee statewide, site-type-specific training curricula implementation across enrolled facilities.
  • Ensure training delivery timelines, onboarding milestones, and quality standards are met consistently.
  • Maintain curriculum fidelity and instructor competency in collaboration with Hub clinical leadership and simulation faculty.

Regional Implementation

  • Direct deployment of regional educators across regions.
  • Oversee site readiness assessments, onsite training events, drills, structured debriefings, and competency refreshers.
  • Support facility champions in sustaining training activities and readiness protocols at their sites.
  • Manage travel, scheduling, and documentation for a geographically distributed team.

Curriculum and Continuing Education

  • Collaborate with clinical faculty and education design staff to develop and maintain obstetric emergency curricula for ED, EMS, outpatient, and birthing hospital settings.
  • Oversee CME, CNE, and EMS continuing education credit pathways with accreditation staff.
  • Ensure materials reflect current national guidelines, AIM Patient Safety Bundles, and regulatory requirements.

Budget and Administrative Management

  • Manage program budgets for training delivery, equipment, and operations.
  • Oversee procurement and distribution of startup readiness supplies (hemorrhage kits, hypertensive crisis kits, neonatal resuscitation materials, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate records of training events, drills, debriefs, and competency documentation across sites.

Evaluation and Reporting

  • Collaborate with the Evaluation Director and data team to ensure timely collection of training and readiness data.
  • Contribute to quarterly progress reports and annual summaries.
  • Drive continuous quality improvement by analyzing outcomes and identifying programmatic adjustments.
