*Overview* Our team specializes in four major telecommunications categories:
* Land Mobile Radio (LMR) * *In-Building Wireless Systems (IBW/DAS)* * Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) * Physical Security Systems We support a variety of large-scale in-building wireless projects, including the installation, maintenance, and support of wireless infrastructure and access points. Current projects span federal, state, and local government agencies, as well as the education, transportation, and healthcare sectors. This position is based in *Manassas, VA* and will help support an increased project workload involving wireless installations, cable management, testing, troubleshooting, customer service, and customer relationship management. The technician will support wireless network infrastructure projects and must have experience with low-voltage coaxial cable installation, rack-and-stack activities, cable dressing and labeling, and fiber optic installations. Testing and troubleshooting experience is preferred. Experience with Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) is a plus but is not required. Experience working with 1/2" coaxial cable and equipment from major telecommunications manufacturers is beneficial. *Schedule* * 40-hour work week consisting of four 10-hour shifts (Monday-Thursday) * Typical hours: 5:00-6:00 AM start time and approximately 3:00-4:00 PM finish time * Fridays are generally off but may be available for overtime work when needed *Location* The team is based in *Manassas, VA*. Candidates should be located within a reasonable commuting distance and be able to meet at the office each morning before traveling to project sites with the team. Work may be performed throughout Northern Virginia, Washington, DC, and Maryland. Responsibilities * Support Lead and Advanced Technicians during project execution. * Assist with the installation of project-specific telecommunications equipment and infrastructure while adhering to manufacturer and company standards. * Install and support various cable types, including coaxial, fiber optic, and Cat5/Cat6 cabling, in commercial environments. * Utilize basic hand and power tools safely and effectively. * Maintain a professional demeanor at all project sites. * Assist with installations across a variety of environments, including stadiums, racing facilities, hospitals, schools, office buildings, and multi-family residential properties. * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. * Deliver high-quality work that promotes customer satisfaction and confidence. * Assist with cable management, labeling, testing, and troubleshooting activities as needed. Required Qualifications Top Skills * *2+ years of cable installation experience*, including coaxial, fiber optic, and low-voltage cabling. DAS experience is highly preferred. * Experience supporting network or telecommunications infrastructure projects, including: * Rack-and-stack installations * Cable terminations * Testing of coaxial and fiber optic cabling * Strong willingness to learn, grow, and develop new technical skills, along with professionalism and customer-facing communication abilities. Preferred Skills * Low-voltage cable testing and troubleshooting experience * Fiber optic installation experience * DAS testing experience * PIM (Passive Intermodulation) testing experience * Sweep testing experience Additional Qualifications * Strong work ethic and reliability * Willingness to learn and advance within the telecommunications industry * Strong teamwork and communication skills * Customer-focused mindset Work Environment * Team-oriented environment consisting of 2-3 personnel, typically including a Lead Technician and supporting technicians. * Candidates must be comfortable traveling throughout Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC. * Occasional overnight travel may be required. Overnight stays are generally infrequent, local in nature, and typically limited to one night at a time. * Daily reporting location is primarily the Manassas, VA area before traveling to project sites. *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manassas, VA. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
