Patient Care Technician Intensive Care Unit ICU

As a Patient Care Technician on this 24-bed Medical ICU, you will care for a diverse patient population, including medical, cardiovascular, pulmonary, renal, neurological, endocrine, and post-surgical patients, including cardiovascular surgery cases. This hybrid HUC/PCT role combines direct patient care with unit coordination responsibilities, serving as one of the first points of contact for patients and families entering the ICU. You will provide routine patient care, collect and document patient information, support unit operations, and collaborate closely with a highly engaged and supportive interdisciplinary team. Our ICU is a high-acuity, fast-paced environment where compassion, empathy, professionalism, and strong communication skills are essential. This position is apart-time Day shift working with 2-12 hour shifts from 6:00 AM-6:30 PM.

• Provides and collaborates direct patient care services under the direct supervisor of a licensed caregiver. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to personal care, activities of daily living, vital signs, intake and output, ambulation, interventions, and implementation of selected portions of the patient care plan as directed under supervisor of nurse.
• Assists, observes and reports changes in patient condition to licensed caregiver and maintains accurate medical record documentation in relation to the care delivered.
• Addresses and/or directs questions or concerns from patients, families, caregivers, or health care team members.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
