Your Job

Georgia-Pacific has an immediate opening for an Administrative Assistant at our Gypsum Plant in Antioch, CA. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated, skilled hourly professional with a working knowledge of administrative functions and a solid foundation in the skills needed to properly support various departments within the plant. This position creates value by supporting leaders with day-to-day admin needs, maintaining records in accordance with the retention policies, and assisting with HR functions.

What You Will Do

  • Administrative responsibility supporting Operations, Safety, Environmental and HR
  • Assists the Plant Managers and plant leadership teams with day-to-day administrative needs
  • Ensuring confidentiality as the primary point of coordination for the HR Business Partner
  • Assists with various processes including reporting metrics, stay interviews, new hire onboarding, accounting, electronic filing, record retention, payroll and other HR related duties
  • Assist other departments with recordkeeping, audits and other compliance tasks as needed
  • Supports with written and verbal communications, both internal and external at multiple levels in the organization
  • Help with problem solving for organization and workflow items
  • Help coordinate meetings, trainings, lunches, and other events
  • Work under pressure and on short deadlines
  • Ensuring records are properly maintained and updated in accordance with our record retention policies
  • Work independently with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects and switch easily between tasks
  • Team-player who operates in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting
  • Other miscellaneous tasks and projects as needed

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience working in an administrative/HR role
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Experience with written and verbal communication

What Will Put You Ahead

  • 2+ years of experience in an HR Assistant role
  • Experience with Tableau, Kronos, MP2, MOE
  • Experience working in a union environment
  • Experience working in a Manufacturing or Industrial environment
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience

For this role, we anticipate paying $30.00-35.00 per hour. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
