Job Summary:


As a Trainer, you will be involved in curriculum development and training delivery of a variety of security topics in support of Inter-Con operations/contracts. You will present the instructional content for the topic area(s) as assigned by the Director or Vice President of Operations. You will conduct practical exercises in addition to classroom lectures/presentations. You may be required to conduct research and provide recommendations regarding the integration and application of security program policies. You may be required to provide analysis, recommendations, and assistance regarding new or existing security requirements. You will maintain compliance with internal and external mandates as required. You will maintain compliance with Inter-Con requirements, as well as local, state, and federal authorities, entities, or other oversight/advisory boards with regard to training and record-keeping. You will assist in the development of training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials as necessary.


Responsibilities



  • Training program experience that includes, but is not limited to:
  • Using a standard classroom instruction format supported by and developed through an academic Instructional System (IS) format.
  • Understanding the concept of a systemic approach to training based on obtaining an overall view of the learning process, characterized by an orderly process for gathering and analyzing collective and individual performance requirements, and the ability to respond to identified training needs.
  • Demonstrable experience applying a systemic approach to ensure learning programs and required support materials are continually reviewed, evaluated, and developed in an effective and efficient manner to meet the needs of a rapidly changing environment.
  • Developing training programs, PowerPoint presentations, syllabi, testing materials, and related training content.
  • Knowledge of and experience with various training delivery methods (e.g., on-the-job training, web-based training) and training types (e.g., technical, professional, team, safety).
  • Must be a certified instructor for CPR, AED, and Adult First Aid (accepted certifications include Red Cross, ASHA, or equivalent).
  • De-escalation training, defensive tactics, arrest and control techniques, and hospital security experience are all considered a plus.
  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Police Science, Public Safety, or a related field preferred. Instructional Design or Learning & Development certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in training, education, instruction, professional development, military training, police training administration, or a comparable environment.
  • Must project a professional image, provide outstanding customer service, communicate effectively with both large and small groups, demonstrate excellent listening skills, and prepare and deliver effective presentations.
  • Must be able to act quickly, decisively, and tactfully to meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills are required.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Must be physically capable of performing activities including running, jumping, defensive tactics, and firearms instruction.

  • Be a citizen of the United States.
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail, recordkeeping, and administrative skills in support of company and state requirements.
  • Read, speak, understand, and write English fluently.
  • Possess general computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Be available to work outside of normal business hours as needed to support training requirements.
  • Be willing to travel on a rotational basis to conduct training.
  • Be willing to work in a variety of environments, including indoor and outdoor shooting ranges and other outdoor training facilities.
  • Be physically fit and able to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Meet the requirements set forth by the Lautenberg Amendment.
