Overview

The Capital Project Manager is responsible for leading and supporting capital improvement projects across the multi-property beachfront resort. This role oversees multiple concurrent projects involving renovations, infrastructure enhancements, technology upgrades, and FF&E initiatives while ensuring minimal disruption to resort operations and guest experience.

Working collaboratively with executive leadership, management company, ownership, Engineering and hotel operations, the Capital Project Manager drives strategic asset improvements that enhance operational efficiency, property value, and the overall guest experience across the resort.

This role is for an individual who is passionate about shaping environments that elevate the guest experience and bring high-impact capital improvements across the resort.



Responsibilities

    Manage capital projects, including budgeting, bidding, design oversight, plan review, field supervision, quality control, financial management, punch list completion, and specification compliance
  • Ensure capital projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with brand standards and company expectations
  • Ensure projects remain on track by proactively managing timelines, deliverables, vendor performance, accountability, and issue resolution
  • Lead underperforming projects and third-party vendor relationships by identifying gaps, driving solutions, enforcing deadlines, and maintaining project momentum
  • Hold vendors, consultants, contractors, and service providers accountable to agreed-upon scopes, schedules, budgets, and quality expectations
  • Coordinate and oversee multiple projects concurrently while balancing support functions and project leadership responsibilities
  • Manage invoicing, contracting, project reporting, and financial tracking for building and technology-related capital projects
  • Schedule, lead, and document project update meetings, construction meetings, and stakeholder communications
  • Research, compile, and analyze operational, maintenance, and financial data to support strategic decision-making
  • Recommend, hire, and manage third-party consultants as needed to support project specifications, plans, and execution
  • Work collaboratively with the executive leadership, management company, ownership, Engineering and hotel operations to improve hotel assets in alignment with the company mission statement
  • Collaborate with the onsite Engineering department on a variety of additional capital and operational projects to ensure effective execution, seamless coordination, and overall alignment with resort standards and objectives.
  • Participate in the development and management of annual capital budgets for assigned hotel assets
  • Assist hotel operational leadership teams in developing comprehensive and detailed capital budgets
  • Maintain accurate project reporting, cash flow forecasting, variance analysis, and financial tracking documentation
  • Actively participate in staff meetings, special projects, and corporate initiatives as needed
  • Demonstrate strong entrepreneurial thinking, creativity, fiscal responsibility, and a relentless commitment to delivering results and getting projects completed successfully
  • Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in capital project management, construction management, or facilities/asset management within hospitality, resort, or large commercial property environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience considered
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in hospitality renovation projects and a background in hotel administration or construction management
  • Proven experience managing multiple concurrent capital projects across a large, complex property or campus setting
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, project delivery methods, building systems, FF&E procurement, and renovation planning
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, contracts, schedules, and vendor performance for multi-million-dollar projects
  • Experience working with engineering and facilities teams to support operational continuity and project execution in active resort environments
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and ROI analysis
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across ownership groups, management companies, and operational teams
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, solution-oriented approach to project challenges
