Hazmat Specialist A

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC is looking for is looking for a Hazmat Specialist A to support our government customer located in Kekaha, Hawai'i.

Under partial supervision, the individual will support any daily Supply functions within the Supply and Logistics Department to include warehousing, shipping and receiving, hazmat and inventory.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs HAZMAT locker inspections and training in accordance with policies and procedures for Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF).
• Conducts monthly inspections of HAZMAT custodian lockers out in the field
• Perform tasks for all HAZMAT operations from cradle to grave.
• Provide clerical and administrative tasks within the Supply & Logistics Department.
• Maintain time management to accomplish deadlines and requirements.
• Perform quality control inspections on property and tools as required.
• Provides HAZMAT Custodial training for newly established personnel
• Contact and provide superior customer support as required in regards to HAZMAT requirements for any operations.
• Performs all data entry and tracking into the N-ERP and the HMM Tool system.
• Transport HAZMAT as referenced in the Performance Work Statement (PWS).
• Ensure compatibility of hazmat that's stored in warehouse and locker locations.
• Provide superior customer service to the customers.
• Trains, mentors and provide technical guidance to lower-level HAZMAT personnel.
• In addition to the above, performs any other tasks as directed by the supervisor and Department manager.

Environment:

• Must be able to work in inclement weather, including daily exposure to heat and sun glare.
• General office, outdoor and warehouse environment.
• PMRF Off-site travel to additional warehouse locations.

Office conditions are varied and includes physical tasks including lifting, pushing or pulling up to 25-50 pounds. Physical positions will include but not be limited to walking or standing for extended periods of time. Environment will include customer contact, a confined work area, and field assignments, sometimes in inclement weather.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

High School or equivalent is minimum required education.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Five (5) years of Supply & Logistics background
• Experience in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of Inventory management and accountability
• Knowledge of basic hazardous materials and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
• Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently.
• Must work well with co-workers and customers.
• Must be capable of operating material handling equipment (MHE)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Four (4) years' experience in HAZMAT is desired.

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Secret security clearance is required. (Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.)
