General Job Description Position Summary KEP Electric is seeking Electric Service Technicians to perform electrical service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs in single family residential homes. This position works directly with customers and field teams to diagnose issues, complete work safely and efficiently, and ensure compliance with electrical codes and company standards. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot, service, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment. Review work orders, plans, specifications, blueprints, and schematics. Complete all work in accordance with applicable electrical codes, safety requirements, and company policies. Communicate with customers regarding service needs, repair recommendations, and expected timelines. Coordinate service activities with employees, vendors, subcontractors, and internal departments. Maintain accurate service records, reports, and customer documentation. Monitor job-site conditions, tools, equipment, and materials to support safe, efficient operations. Help resolve field concerns and keep assigned work on schedule. Support and train less-experienced technicians as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Education None Minimum Years of Experience 2-4 Specific Qualifications Qualifications Previous electrical service, maintenance, troubleshooting, or repair experience preferred. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, testing equipment, tools, and safety practices. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical documentation. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate with others. High school diploma or GED preferred. Relevant electrical licenses or certifications preferred and required where applicable. Construction, field operations, or service-industry experience is a plus. Ability to pass required pre-employment screenings, including background and motor vehicle record checks. Ability to communicate in English as needed to safely and effectively perform job duties. Physical and Work Requirements Travel to and between job sites as required. Frequently stand, walk, climb, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, crawl, and reach. Lift and carry tools, equipment, and materials throughout the workday. Sit for extended periods while driving. Work indoors and outdoors in active job-site conditions, including attics, crawlspaces, confined areas, and elevated spaces. Work around varying weather conditions, noise, dust, and other construction-related hazards.
