A Brief Overview

A cross functional role that focuses on capturing and understanding the business requirements at a user story level. Participates and collaborates on an Agile development team. Understands the overall business flows by working with Product Owners, subject matter experts (SMEs) and business teams on a regular basis. Defines improvements to business processes and products. Assists decision-makers in gathering information in order to make informed decisions. Collaborates with Product Owners and Quality Assurance (QA) to identify and write the detailed requirements of test cases. Creates and maintains business and product artifacts.

What will you do?

  • Along with Agile team Product Owner, perform analyses related to the implementation of new or revised business processes and software solutions to assist various company business and technical teams.

  • Create, update, and maintain user stories for development work within the product.

  • Regularly interact with business partners of all levels outside of the group and maintain good relationships with them.

  • Create and maintain business and product artifacts, including requirements, business case documentation, scope documentation, process flows, and business rules and procedures.

  • Collaborate with Product Owners and QA to identify and write test cases from the user story acceptance criteria to ensure requirements are met.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent

  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)

  • Insurance coverages and rating schemes and insurance products

Who would excel in this role?

  • Knowledge of property casualty rating and policy coverages and endorsements

  • Experience with business analysis or project management

  • Experience working in application lifecycle management tools such as DevOps, JIRA, or Rally

  • SQL knowledge

  • Excellent oral and written communication with all levels of the organization and individuals outside of the organization, including vendors
