Job Summary and Responsibilities

Acentra Health is looking for a part-time PASRR Evaluator to join our growing team.

Job Summary:

Join Acentra Health as a Clinical Evaluator (PASRR). In this role, you will conduct PASRR Level II Pre-Admission Screening and Resident Review assessments, working directly with patients in local care settings. You will evaluate individuals to help determine appropriate next-level-of-care recommendations, supporting continuity of quality care while ensuring compliance with industry standards and applicable government regulations.

**This is a hybrid, part-time position based in the Topeka, Kansas area that combines remote work from home with field-based responsibilities. The role requires travel to local care settings, including hospitals, nursing facilities, and community-based service locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete accurate PASRR screenings, evaluations, and determinations through clinical assessment of the patient, relevant records, and collateral sources of individuals.
  • Ensure accurate PASRR review completion by determining appropriate level of care based on the patient's physical, behavioral, and psychological functioning.
  • Ensure compliance with necessary workflow, including re-review of records based upon input from the psychiatrist.
  • Determine a clinical diagnosis accounting for psychological and behavioral issues.
  • Utilize computer equipment and web-based software to conduct work.
  • Interact with healthcare professionals, patients, their families, and internal partners as necessary.
  • Develop level of care recommendations based upon clinical evaluations.
  • Assess and analyze psychological, emotional, behavioral, and physical functioning.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Must hold an active, unrestricted Kansas license in a healthcare or related discipline, including but not limited to Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP), Registered Nurse (RN) with a specialty in psychiatric care, or another qualified Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP)

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in a relevant field

  • 3+ years of experience in the assessment and/or diagnosis of individuals with mental or psychiatric disorders, including complex differential diagnoses involving substance use, medical conditions, cognitive impairment, dementia or geriatric populations.

  • 2+ years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, serious mental illness, or related conditions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Federal Regulation 42 CFR, Chapter 483
  • Knowledge of psychiatric disorders as defined by the most current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual in use in Kansas
  • Knowledge of standards of practice related to Level of Care determinations, mental health, intellectual and developmental disabilities, geriatrics, and other disorders requiring long-term care services and supports
  • Experience with the geriatric population
  • Medical record abstracting skills, including knowledge of medical record organization, medical terminology, and disease processes
  • Strong clinical judgment, assessment, critical-thinking, and evidence-based decision-making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups through spoken, written, and electronic media
  • Attention to detail and the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a timely manner
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams, as well as experience using other web-based tools and platforms.

Experience in Lieu of Degree

For non-clinical roles, or when not required by the contract specifically, the Company acknowledges that practical, hands-on experience can provide skills and competencies equivalent to formal education. As such, in cases where a Bachelor's degree may be required, the Company will accept a minimum of six (6) years of directly relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree. In instances where the candidate has an Associate's degree, the Company will accept a minimum of three (3) years of directly relevant professional experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree.
