Maintenance Lube Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position reports to the maintenance shift supervisor. The lube technician will maintain the lube levels in all the production equipment. Report any water/oil leaks, keep areas clean and dry, and free of oil and debris for safety. Service filters on the loading equipment. Transfer accumulated oil/water containers to designated holding areas.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Visually and manually inspects production equipment in the Skylab facility for low levels of oil and grease on all machines daily.
  • Adds the required amount of oil or grease to the production equipment as needed daily.
  • Keeps the areas around the production equipment clean, dry and free of oil and debris for safety daily.
  • Reports any oil/water/air leaks to maintenance shift supervisor for repair.
  • Labels and maintains waste drums and transfers accumulated oil/water drums to designated holding areas daily.
  • Services filters for production equipment as directed by the maintenance shift supervisor.
  • Maintains, cleans, and wipes down all lubrication equipment daily.
  • Maintains required quantities of grease and oil reserves and stored amounts. Reorders as needed.
  • Supports the maintenance department with small repairs and services daily and on weekends when needed.
  • Maintains reliable and consistent attendance, including being punctual and dependable in order to meet the needs of the department and the organization.
  • Executes each essential duty satisfactorily in order to perform job successfully.
  • Follows all safety procedures required in work area, wears PPE as needed, attends all safety meetings, and reports safety issues regarding equipment or unsafet/hazardous conditions.
  • Performs effectively as a team member, able to work well with others, open to receive and give feedback, and treats everyone with respect.
  • Takes ownership of own work and behavior, accepts accountability for own actions, encourages solutions, and communicates status of work/projects.
  • Follows all department quality standards/criteria. Raises concerns and issues to the immediate manager.
  • Understands and demonstrates the Cambro company culture; displays the company's core values (Safety, Quality, Respect, and Service).
  • Understands department's key performance indicators and contributes to achieve these goals both individually and as a team.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support facility maintenance as directed by Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Shift Manager.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed, remain flexible and open to possible schedule changes in order to meet business needs.

JOB SUMMARY FOR PERFORMANCE REVIEW

  • Maintains grease and oil levels on all production equipment on a daily basis. Keeps all areas around the machine free from oil and water for safety daily. Labels and maintains waste drums and transfers accumulated oil/water drums to designated holding areas. Maintains supplies of grease and oils needed to perform job. Supports maintenance department as needed.

REQUIRE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education and/or experience - High School diploma or GED
  • Language skills: English/Bilingual
  • Mathematical skills - Proficient in basic math skills, addition, substraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Reasoning ability - ability to solve practical problems, interpret a variety of instructions, written, oral, diagram, and/or scheduled.
  • Communication, both verbal and written - ability to use email, maintenance software and face-to=face.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registration - Valid California driver's license and ability to qualify for a forklift license.
  • Other: duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education and/or experience - One or two years related experience. Knowledge of oils and grease.
  • Language skills - ability to communicate effectively in English.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - Forklift, Scissor Lift

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Sitting, walking, standing, bending at the neck, bending at the waist, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting at the neck and waist, repetitive use of hands, simple grasping, power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling, reaching above and below the shoulder, carrying/lifting up to 50 lbs.

PPE REQUIREMENTS

Safety glasses, Utility gloves, Steel-toe slip-resistant shoes, Hardhat
Hearing protection (e.g. ear plugs, ear muffs), Face shields, Face covering (mask) in accordance with company policy.

COMPENSATION RANGE:

$18.58 - $19.50

Salary may vary based on experience.
