This internship position is a time-limited, temporary position with a start date and orientation on September 7th, 2026. The total number of hours that an intern can work during this timeframe is 250 hours.
The Accounts Payable Intern at Cone Health gains hands-on experience in accounting by working directly with the Accounts Payable team. This role offers meaningful exposure to real-world financial operations, including invoice processing, payment workflows, and system optimization following Workday implementation. Interns collaborate with experienced AP professionals and learn how financial transactions move through a large healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mail data analysis - Review and summarize incoming mail to support the transition from physical to electronic documentation.
  • Workday postgolive support - Assist with projects that enhance AP efficiency after Workday implementation.
  • Invoice processing - Enter, verify, and process invoices to ensure timely and accurate payment.
  • ACH promotion project - Support outreach to Cone Health suppliers to increase ACH payment adoption.

Education:

  • Required: Must be in process of a college-level degree in a related field and a student in good standing.
  • Junior or Senior standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Experience:

    • Strong interest in healthcare, nonprofit operations, business, or process improvement.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work respectfully across cultures and align with Cone Health values.
    • Strong listening skills and the ability to organize information clearly and logically.
