Are you an experienced Human Resources (HR) Generalist looking to join an organization with a collaborative, supportive, and team-oriented culture?The Weitz Company is hiring a Senior HR Generalist to support our Mission Critical business unit. The Senior HR Generalist will play an instrumental role in bolstering our culture, enhancing the employee experience, building trusting relationships with leaders, and ensuring project teams are positioned for success. This role includes a strong employee relations component and will serve as a key partner to consult and advise leaders on a wide range of employee relations matters, including workplace investigations, performance management and corrective action, employee concerns, and conflict resolution.

What You'll Do:



  • Partner with business unit leadership to support day-to-day HR needs and build strong, trusted relationships
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders on employee relations matters, including investigations, performance concerns, corrective action, and conflict resolution
  • Counsel employees on career path and development opportunities, establish policies/procedures, and other HR related matters
  • Collaborate with management to identify employee development opportunities
  • Facilitate and implement employee enhancement initiatives including staff recognition, mentorship program, training initiatives, new employee onboarding, and new hire check-ins
  • Facilitate the offboarding process including separation details and conducting exit interviews
  • Assist and coach managers on performance reviews, ongoing performance management, and delivering clear, actionable feedback
  • Facilitate employee relocations by collaborating with HR team, project teams, employees, and relocation vendor to ensure a seamless transition
  • Provide day-to-day HR support to employees
  • Maintain accurate personnel records and HRIS data
  • Track applicable state and local compliance updates
  • Ensure timely, thorough, and well-documented case management and employee records.



What We're Looking For:



  • Experience:

    • 5+ years of experience in an HR role with strong emphasis in employee relations
    • Demonstrated experience handling complex workplace investigations, performance management, and corrective action processes
    • Proven ability to coach and consult with leaders through sensitive or high-impact employee situations
    • Degree in HR, business management, or related field is strongly preferred
    • SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus
    • HR experience in the construction or manufacturing industry is a plus

  • Technology:

    • Proficient in basic computer software including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
    • Ability to learn specific job-related software upon hire
