Position Overview

Alliance Technical Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented law student intern to join our in-house Legal Department. This is a hands-on opportunity to work alongside experienced legal professionals in a dynamic, fast-growing environmental services company. The intern will gain meaningful exposure to corporate transactional work, litigation support, and regulatory compliance, all within an industry at the intersection of environmental law, energy, and technology.

This position is open to law students at any stage of their legal education (1L, 2L, or 3L; rising law school entrants).

Key Responsibilities

Contracts and Transactional Work



  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and summarizing contracts, master service agreements, NDAs, and vendor agreements
  • Support due diligence efforts related to mergers, acquisitions, and business development activities
  • Maintain and organize contract management systems and templates


Litigation Support



  • Assist with research and preparation of legal memoranda related to disputes or claims
  • Help organize and manage litigation files, discovery materials, and case timelines
  • Coordinate with outside counsel on active matters as needed


Compliance and Regulatory



  • Research federal and state environmental regulations (EPA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, etc.) relevant to Alliance's service lines
  • Support preparation of compliance reports, regulatory filings, and internal policy documentation
  • Monitor regulatory developments affecting the environmental services industry


General Legal Support



  • Conduct legal research and prepare summaries on a variety of topics
  • Assist with corporate governance matters and maintain corporate records
  • Support the Legal Department on special projects as assigned


Qualifications



  • Currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school (1L, 2L, or 3L)
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Intellectual curiosity and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Interest in environmental law, regulatory compliance, or corporate law is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with legal research platforms (Westlaw, LexisNexis) preferred

Location, Schedule and Rate

This position is based in Louisville, Kentucky. Hybrid arrangements may be considered depending on law school schedule. Part-time or summer full-time schedules are available. This is a non-exempt role at $18/hr.
