Job Overview

The Accounting and Financial Systems Analyst will support routine month-end accounting activities, including preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and assisting with other close-related tasks. In addition, this role will contribute to accounting process improvement initiatives and SAP financial system projects. The position will also build the knowledge and skills needed to become an internal resource for General Ledger processes and SAP business transactions.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists with routine financial accounting processes including Accounting and Finance master data creation and maintenance, journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliations
  • Assist with SOX testing and other department routines and projects as needed
  • Compile and create Accounting and Finance reports and maintain existing reports to support business needs
  • Assists management on project work, process development, and process improvement opportunities
  • Assists in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements (balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements) by collecting, reviewing business performance and financial information; summarizing financial status
  • Serve as a liaison for special projects outside of Finance in coordination with other functions across the organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • 3-5 years of accounting and/or audit experience
  • Experience in large ERP systems such as SAP
  • Experience working with large data sets and databases, including Snowflake, and building queries using SQL or other data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI
  • Expert in MS Excel Foundational accounting knowledge and experience with financial close and reporting process
  • Strong technical aptitude with excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organization skills
  • Possess a high degree of self-motivation and initiative
  • Capable of multi-tasking under high pressure

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (4 years)
  • Knowledge acquired through 3 to up to 5 years of work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Financial Information Systems
