The Space and Intelligence Division provides professional services to the US Space Force, Combatant Commands, Intelligence Community, and NASA. The Space Systems Group (SSG), part of SPA's Space and Intelligence Division, provides timely and objective assessments and recommendations integrating technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis. We focus on our key clients in the Space community including the US Space Force's Space Systems Command (USSF/SSC), one of the three designated Field Commands under USSF. We work tirelessly to provide integrated solutions based on information and communications throughout the chain of command. SPA has an immediate need for a Senior Contract Specialist


Responsibilities

The Senior Contract Specialist provides acquisition and contract management support to U.S. Space Force and national security space organizations supporting sensitive national security missions.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the folllowing:

Contract & Acquisition Support

  • Provide senior-level acquisition and contract management support to government program offices and contracting teams.
  • Support pre-award and post-award contract administration activities in accordance with FAR, DFARS, and agency guidance.
  • Prepare and maintain acquisition documentation including Statements of Work, Performance Work Statements, IGCEs, J&A documentation, acquisition plans, funding documents, and contract modifications.
  • Track deliverables, milestones, funding status, periods of performance, and contractual actions.
  • Support proposal evaluations, market research, and acquisition package development.

Program & Organizational Support

  • Maintain acquisition trackers, contract status reports, briefing materials, and executive summaries.
  • Support acquisition reporting requirements, data calls, and program reviews.
  • Coordinate meetings, suspense management, task tracking, and acquisition workflow activities.
  • Prepare executive correspondence, memoranda, acquisition briefings, and staffing packages.

Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, Department of the Air Force, and U.S. Space Force acquisition policies and procedures.
  • Support process improvement initiatives focused on acquisition efficiency and organizational accountability.
  • Maintain proper handling of procurement-sensitive, proprietary, and classified information.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Active DoD Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 10 years of experience supporting federal acquisition, contract administration, or DoD contracting operations
  • Experience supporting DoD, U.S. Space Force, U.S. Air Force, Intelligence Community, or related acquisition organizations
  • Strong working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and federal acquisition processes
  • Experience supporting acquisition lifecycle activities including planning, award, modification, and closeout
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills
  • Ability to report to designated work location in Chantilly, up to full time, based on the needs of the customer

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Space Systems Command, SDA, NRO, or other national security space organizations
  • Familiarity with defense acquisition lifecycle management and major capability acquisition programs
  • DAWIA certification or equivalent acquisition certification preferred
  • Experience with contract writing systems and acquisition reporting tools
