Job Summary
The Yard & Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the company laydown yard, including management of heavy equipment, tools, materials, and inventory systems. This role ensures accurate tracking, proper storage, maintenance coordination, and efficient distribution of assets to support field operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, safety-focused, and experienced in construction yard or equipment management.

This position will work closely with the company's Yard Manager located in Tucson, AZ, as well as the Equipment Manager, to ensure alignment of inventory practices, equipment tracking, and maintenance standards across all operations.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage and oversee all operations of the equipment laydown yard

* Track, receive, and inspect incoming shipments of equipment, tools, materials, and supplies

* Maintain accurate inventory records for tools, equipment, and PPE

* Implement and manage a check-in/check-out system for tools and equipment

* Coordinate staging, storage, and distribution of materials to project sites

* Conduct routine yard audits and inventory reconciliations

* Ensure proper labeling, storage, and organization of all assets

* Oversee PPE inventory levels and ensure availability for field personnel

* Maintain logs for equipment usage, inspections, and maintenance

* Track and maintain boat maintenance logs, inspections, and service schedules (if applicable to project operations)

* Coordinate with mechanics/vendors for equipment repairs and preventive maintenance

* Enforce yard safety standards and company policies

* Maintain a clean, organized, and secure yard environment

* Work closely with project teams, logistics, procurement, the out-of-state Yard Manager, and the Equipment Manager to support operational needs and standardize processes

Requirements & Qualifications

* 3+ years of experience in yard management, inventory control, or equipment management (construction industry preferred)

* Experience managing heavy equipment, tools, and construction materials

* Strong organizational and record-keeping skills

* Familiarity with inventory tracking systems or asset management software

* Knowledge of PPE requirements and safety compliance standards

* Ability to operate forklifts, loaders, or other yard equipment (preferred)

* Basic mechanical knowledge is a plus

* Strong communication and problem-solving skills

* Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus

Work Environment & Location

* Outdoor work in a construction yard environment

* Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed

* May require occasional travel to project sites

* Ability to work extended hours or weekends as needed
