Overview

Title: Senior Advisor - Metabolic Health

Hours: 5-10 hours per week

Assignment Duration: April 2026 - March 31, 2027

Location: Remote

Salary: $96.59 - $102.00 per Hour

Primary Purpose of the Role

To provide clinical and research expertise on metabolic health, GLP1 therapies, and health economics.



Responsibilities

Key Duties & Responsibilities

    Participate in meetings with SCMGDDI staff.
  • Advise on clinical design features and access criteria for GLP1s.
  • Provide expertise on most recent clinical, market, and research trends.
  • Provide SME feedback on ICIPs, RFAs, policy documents, and model materials.
  • Offer expert interpretation of GLP1 evidence and health economic implications.
  • Advise on methodological credibility and interpretation of findings.
  • Inform staff on emerging GLP1 literature, cardiometabolic research, and clinical best practices.
  • Advise on epidemiologic and economic considerations affecting utilization and access.
  • SME guidance on clinical access criteria and valuebased prioritization for GLP1 therapies.
  • Presentations summarizing latest GLP1 evidence (clinical outcomes, utilization trends).
  • Expert review of policy documents, external communications, and guidance materials.
  • Support development of briefing papers related to GLP1 utilization, payment, and trends.
  • Engagement in dissemination efforts to clinical and research communities.


Qualifications

Required Education

  • M.D. with specialization in Cardiology

In addition to the medical degree, completion of graduate level education (Master's or higher) in one or more of the following areas:

    • Health Economics
    • Health Services Research
    • Pharmacoeconomics
    • Health Policy
    • or related fields
  • 15+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Publication record in peerreviewed journals on GLP1s
  • Engagement with professional societies (e.g., AHA, ACC, SGIM)
  • Demonstrated expertise in cardiometabolic disease and GLP1 pharmacotherapy
  • Ability to evaluate populationlevel utilization and access impacts

Licensure/Certification

  • Active license as a practicing cardiologist
