Waukesha County is looking for a forward-thinking Training and Development Coordinator to lead and grow our employee development programs. Waukesha County offers a well-established and comprehensive training program that supports employees at all levels. Current offerings include six leadership development programs, a certificate program built around the County's Standards of Service Excellence, technology training, Lean/Continuous Improvement education, and wide range of professional development opportunities.

In this role, you will partner with third-party facilitators to coordinate existing programs while also designing and delivering new learning solutions that respond to evolving organizational needs. You will collaborate closely with County leadership, managers, and employees to identify development priorities and implement effective training strategies.

A key focus of this position is advancing the County's Workday Learning platform. Responsibilities include administering the system, build learning paths, launching targeted training campaigns, and supporting the integration of digital learning content to expand employee access to develop opportunities.

This role serves as the lead for the Workday Talent and Performance module, supporting performance management, succession planning, and broader talent development strategies. In addition, you will contribute to employee communication and engagement initiatives as a member of the County'sCommunications Team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of experience coordinating and facilitating employee training, staff development, or organizational learning programs.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and evaluation methods.
  • Experience administering a learning management system, preferably Workday Learning.
  • Experience supporting performance management, succession planning, or other talent management processes.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, consultation, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and work effectively with employees and leaders across a large, complex organization.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience in local government, the public sector, or another complex organization preferred.
  • Professional HR or talent development certification preferred.

Minimum Training & Experience Requirements
1. Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in human resources management, labor or industrial relations, business or public administration, social sciences, or a closely related field.
2. Two (2) years of professional work experience in human resources administration including employment, wage and salary administration, labor relations, training, employee learning and development, organizational development, or a closely related field, preferably in the public sector.
3. Master's degree from a recognized college or university in an area listed above may be substituted for one (1) year of the work experience requirement.
