The Department of General Services is looking for a dedicated Maintenance Repairman 1 who enjoys hands-on work and problem solving. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the upkeep and repair of Commonwealth buildings through a wide range of skilled and semi-skilled tasks. It plays an important part in ensuring that facilities stay safe, functional, and well maintained. As a Maintenance Repairman 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Carpentry Support: Install and repair partitions, fixtures, furniture, and floor materials
- Door and Hardware Work: Repair doorframes, adjust closures, and maintain hinges and locks
- Electrical Assistance: Replace lamps, clean lenses, and assist electricians with larger projects
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform minor repairs on small motorized equipment and report major issues
- Plumbing Tasks: Clear drains, fix leaks, replace parts, and provide first response to plumbing issues
- Painting and Surface Prep: Prepare surfaces and apply paint to interior and exterior areas

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- This position is essential for reporting to work in the case of emergencies and office closings.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Special Requirement:
- You must possess a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
