As a Maintenance Repairman 2 for the Pennsylvania State Police, you will help keep Troop buildings and grounds in strong working condition. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position focuses on maintenance, repair, and custodial work that supports the function and upkeep of Troop F facilities. The role involves hands-on tasks that keep buildings, equipment, and grounds in good working order. As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • General Maintenance: Perform painting, carpentry, masonry, and basic repairs to keep facilities in good condition
  • Plumbing and HVAC: Complete plumbing fixes and assist with operating and maintaining the HVAC system
  • Electrical Work: Install and repair lighting fixtures, switches, and minor electrical components
  • Groundskeeping: Maintain outdoor areas by mowing, trimming, removing snow, and keeping walkways clear
  • Custodial Tasks: Clean interior areas such as floors, restrooms, and windows and dispose of waste
  • Project Support: Assist with vendor projects and help move furniture and supplies as needed

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must possess 2 years of experience in plumbing, electrical, and mechanical.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
