Music Publishing Operations Specialist (Level II)

Location: New York (On-site, hybrid - 3 days onsite)

Duration: 12 months (with possible extension)


Start Date: As soon as possible


Overview

We are looking for a highly organized and self-motivated professional with 2+ years of experience in operations or data management. This role focuses on managing publishing operations, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting process improvements through automation and collaboration.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement scalable automation solutions and improve operational processes
  • Research and verify publishing ownership data using internal and third-party tools
  • Manage day-to-day publishing operations with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
  • Perform data ingestion, validation, and quality assurance
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve data issues
  • Monitor and report on operational metrics to identify trends and improvements
  • Maintain documentation of workflows, processes, and SOPs
  • Handle external partner queries and route them appropriately
  • Conduct quality checks on reports before distribution
  • Support ongoing data quality initiatives and track issue resolution


Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in operations, data management, or similar roles
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets with large datasets
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment


Preferred Skills

  • Experience in music publishing or related industry
  • Understanding of publishing data (royalties, metadata, ownership)
  • Familiarity with tools and formats like CWR, DDEX
  • Experience with automation tools, Python, or SQL
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle pressure
