The Global Security Directorate (GSD) at Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is seeking highly qualified and motivated National Security Analysts to support the coordination, development, and execution of a diverse portfolio of national security programs. Our analysts are key to addressing complex global security challenges for federal sponsors within the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) and other U.S. Government agencies. Core mission areas include nuclear nonproliferation, arms control, and international security.

This position will provide implementation support and subject matter expertise for SRNL's global security programs by serving in project coordination capacity, reviewing and delivering project milestones, technical deliverables, proposals, and providing communications to external customers.

This role will focus on efforts including, but not limited to, export control analysis, nuclear verification programs, and nonproliferation policy development on behalf of DOE and other government partners.


  • Execute and coordinate national security programs in support of U.S. government missions related to nuclear nonproliferation, arms control, and international security.
  • Serve as a key liaison between SRNL program teams, senior laboratory leadership, federal sponsors, and partners across the DOE/NNSA complex.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality analytical products, including technical reports, briefings, and formal presentations for a range of stakeholders.
  • Drive program growth by supporting and leading the development of proposals for new and ongoing work with federal customers.
  • Conduct analysis on complex security challenges, developing novel concepts, policies, and strategies to support sponsor missions. Responsibilities will be tailored to the candidate's experience and will grow in complexity over time.
  • Ensure all work is conducted in strict compliance with laboratory standards for safety, security, and quality, making these an integral part of every task.
  • Maintain all required security clearances and adhere to proper protocols for handling classified and controlled information.
  • Travel as required to support program objectives and sponsor engagement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as science, engineering, public policy, international affairs, or security studies, combined with 4+ years of relevant experience.
    • A Master's degree or PhD may substitute for some experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects, work effectively in interdisciplinary teams, and manage concurrent tasks.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to a variety of audiences
  • For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is Legally Required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Q clearance
  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • A Master's degree or PhD in a technical or policy field related to national security
    • Six or more college level courses in statistics, mathematics, engineering, or physical sciences
  • Deep knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
    • Nuclear nonproliferation, arms control, or international safeguards.
    • Export control policy and analysis.
    • Technical aspects of nuclear material, such as material accounting, nondestructive analysis, or production processes.
    • Program and project management
  • Experience working with or supporting missions for the Department of Energy (DOE), National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), or other federal agencies in the national security space.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R) or project management software.
