Job Description

This role can be based in our New York, NY or Santa Monica, CA office.

The Director of Commercial Marketing is a strategic leadership role dedicated to shaping and executing a forward-looking commercial marketing strategy that delivers measurable business outcomes. In this position you will be leading a high-performing team to design and implement impactful campaigns, seamlessly aligning with sales and other portfolio pillars to create customer-centric journeys. By fostering collaboration and driving transformed ways of working, you will ensure strategic goals are met and product launches succeed. Additionally, you will emphasize turning strategy into action through agile methodologies, promoting flexibility, efficiency, and continuous improvement in marketing execution. You will report into the VP of Marketing of the Portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute a commercial marketing strategy that aligns with business objectives, product launches, and revenue targets, translating strategy into tactical plans across the team.
  • Lead forward planning efforts to ensure marketing campaigns are proactive, data-driven, and designed to deliver measurable results.
  • Champion efficiency through agile practices by optimizing workflows, reducing time-to-market for campaigns, and ensuring resources are allocated effectively to maximize ROI.
  • Drive the achievement of commercial KPIs by setting clear, product- and market-focused goals, while tracking and communicating progress through dashboards and value frameworks.
  • Deliver key outcomes such as MQL growth and quality, MQL revenue, marketing-influenced revenue, and client retention, supported by lead and demand generation, account-based marketing, and client communication initiatives.

Team Leadership and Execution

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing marketing team of product marketeers, campaign managers and comms planners, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Oversee the development, briefing and optimization of strategic campaigns that drive engagement, conversion, and pipeline acceleration.
  • Continuously optimize marketing initiatives based on performance data, client feedback, and market trends.

Collaboration and Alignment

  • Build strong relationships with sales teams to align on strategic goals, product launches, and pipeline priorities.
  • Partner with other portfolio pillars, including attendee and content audience teams, to design custome

Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Leverage account intelligence and analytics to inform segmentation, targeting, and campaign strategies.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to measure the effectiveness of marketing efforts, providing actionable insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Run executive updates and QBRs to report on marketing impact, campaign performance, and next-step recommendations.

Client-Centric Innovation

  • Gather and prioritize client feedback to inform product and pricing decisions, ensuring offerings align with customer needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including brand, sales and operations, to refine solutions and enhance customer experiences.
  • Champion innovation by integrating advanced tools and technologies, such as agentic AI, to scale and personalize marketing efforts.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in commercial marketing in high pace environments, with expertise in strategic planning, product marketing, and team leadership.
  • Strong ability to build cross-functional relationships, particularly with sales and product teams, to align on shared goals.
  • Data-driven mindset with a focus on delivering customer-centric solutions and measurable outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

The salary range for this role is $90,000-$120,000/YR. Actual offers will be determined using a combination of factors, including location, qualifications and relevant experience.
