We treat our people like family, we are mission-focused, and we give back! Join us today. SPA has an immediate need for a Solution-Level Software System Engineer to join our team to support the PAE Fires Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office. The candidate in this role will work with contractors, US military, government civilians and system operators to develop system-level concepts that provide solutions to problems that often involve various systems from multiple product offices. These concepts define external interfaces, outline system behavior, performance, and acceptance criteria necessary to support HW and SW engineering teams. Responsibilities Your day-to-day work will include serving as a member of the Solutions System Engineering Team, where you will help prioritize capabilities to be addressed in each Program Increment (PI). You will collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to understand the scope of each initiative or capability and develop concepts using a Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) approach within an Agile software development workflow and environment. You will assemble artifacts and related information into Solutions Initiative Documents (SIDs) and Solutions Engineering Documents (SEDs), refining Jira tickets as needed. Your responsibilities will also include modeling capability behavior (SV-1, SV-4) using the MagicDraw MBSE tool, creating or modifying existing behavior to incorporate functions and data exchanges/signals, and defining acceptance criteria for each capability while tracing those criteria to behaviors in the model. In addition, you will determine which current Capabilities Description Document (CDD) and System Specification requirements are satisfied by each capability and establish those links in the model. You will recommend follow-up feature tickets for implementation at the program level, facilitate and lead both internal and formal reviews of initiatives/capabilities, adjudicate review comments, and transition recommended capabilities/features to the backlog by drafting them in Jira. You will also take part in regular team stand-ups, along with team planning, retrospectives, and prioritization activities. Qualifications Required Qualifications:
