Database Administrator

Role Summary

We are seeking a high-energy Database Administrator to play a critical role in defining the future of our digital manufacturing pipeline. You will serve as the backbone of our "Virtual Factory," managing the data structures that enable a full virtual digital twin and a shortened development life cycle. This role isn't just about maintenance; it's about high-level engagement with our supplier community and internal customers to ensure seamless data flow across global databases, plants, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

Systems Support & Data Orchestration

  • Primary Contact: Serve as the subject matter expert for troubleshooting Teamcenter, NX, and TcVis data structure issues for Manufacturing Engineering (ME) users.

  • Global Data Logistics: Facilitate complex data movement activities, including imports, exports, and translations between global databases and external partners.

  • Performance Optimization: Monitor system health and capacity; use statistical data to recommend and implement performance tuning.

  • Incident Management: Respond to automated alerts and perform deep-dive diagnostics on O/S, software, and database configurations.

Process Innovation & Automation

  • Citizen Development: Leverage the "Internal Toolbox" (Power Automate, PowerBI, Databricks, or Mendix) to automate user identity audits and data storage workflows.

  • Continuous Improvement: Document and refine best practices, technical manuals, and training materials to standardize data management.

  • Global Collaboration: Represent ME in global software events, leading regression testing for new Teamcenter/NX patches and updates.

Maintenance & Reliability

  • Execute end-to-end software installations, upgrades, and patching cycles.

  • Manage robust backup strategies and perform manual failovers to redundant systems to ensure zero-downtime operations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience, specifically focused on Teamcenter and the Siemens suite of tools (NX, TcVis).

  • Technical Proficiency:

    • Strong command of SQL and database administration.

    • Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) environments.

    • Experience with Power Platform or similar automation/BI tools.

  • Operational Knowledge: Clear understanding of Help Desk workflows, ticket tracking, and SLA (Service Level Agreement) compliance.

  • Communication: Proven ability to translate complex technical issues into clear documentation and provide top-tier support to a global user community.
