You will be part of Social, Healthcare and Public Entities (SHaPE) Healthcare Access, Quality & Outcomes (HALO) domain. As a member of Capabilities & Insights team within HALO, you will deliver distinctive client impact through assets and data analyses by leveraging valuable and complex databases such as VRDC.
In this role, you will have opportunities for high levels of interaction with consultants and the rest of the knowledge team. The SHaPE practice is one of 10 industry practices within the firm and has a mission of measurably improving individuals' lives, livelihoods and health, creating safer and more just communities around the world. Our practice is organized around domains that house intellectual property and expert practitioners, Centers of Excellence (CoE), and cross-functional special teams working to bring a distinctive approach to our clients in practice priority areas like digital and analytics.
You will leverage a solid understanding of data analytics, analytical problem solving, and interest in healthcare innovation provide valuable insights to our consulting teams and clients. In this role, you will work alongside senior knowledge professionals on larger client projects, client development and internal knowledge initiatives. By collecting and analyzing data and information found in databases such as VRDC (CMS Virtual Research Data Center), you will assemble analytical analyses and counsel consultants and clients on the scope of the business and economic trends for solving client problems at hand.
You will identify the key issues for a client's problem or need and determine the most appropriate solution, while effectively balancing quality, availability, timeliness, and cost factors. You'll likely perform a variety of analyses such as claims analyses, trend identification, industry profiling, and growth projections and opportunity scanning to add value to problem-solving discussions. You will also participate in, and eventually lead, internal knowledge development and capability-building initiatives. Lasty, you'll use advanced analytics tools to prepare and analyze large datasets to distill insights.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • University degree; preferably in business, finance, or economics
  • 2+ years of analytics experience, ideally within healthcare or adjacent industry
  • Interest and/or experience with healthcare is strongly preferred
  • Strong modelling and analytical Excel skills
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages, with a focus on machine learning and advanced analytics (such as R, Python, PySpark and Scala)
  • Experience working with large data sets and relational databases
  • Ability to translate business requirements and excellent time management skills (manage estimated workload according to scope)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze issues, identify causes, and recommend solutions quickly
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively with people at all levels in an organization
  • Solid understanding of economic, financial, and general business concepts and terminology
